Hayes Independent Councillors
Hayes Independent Councillors are dedicated to serving the residents of Hayes in the London Borough of Hillingdon. We provide a truly independent voice, free from party political constraints, ensuring that the needs of our community are always the top priority. We work extremely hard for the local residents, raising more local issues and dealing with more casework than other groups on the council.
Cllr Peter Curling
Leader - Hayes Independent Party
Peter has 24 years experience as a councillor in Hillingdon, and he currently represents Hayes Town Ward, after spending many years as a Townfiled ward councillor (Townfield was meged with Botwell in the boundary chnges to make Hayes Town Ward). Peter has always represented Hayes and is dedicated to improving the area and making a positive difference to the whole community of Hayes. He was born in Hillingdon and has always lived and worked in the borough. Peter is also a volunteer broadcaster at the local Hospital Radio station, Radio Hillingdon.
Cllr Janet Gardner
Deputy Leader - Hayes Independent Party
Janet has over 30 years experience as a councillor in Hillingdon, and currently represents Hayes Town ward. She is also the Council's appointed Domestic Violence Victims Advocate, and, as a survivor of DV, she has dedicated her life to campaiging and advocating for victims and survivors of all forms of Domestic Abuse. Janet also has a wealth of knowledge on housing and is chair of a local housing co-operative.
Cllr Labina Basit
Whip - Hayes Independent Party
Labina has been a councillor since 2022 and, as an Independent councillor, has been a great community campaigner and has served the residents of Belmore ward, concentrating on their issues, rather than any party political dogma.
Cllr Scott Farley
Treasurer - Hayes Independent Party
Scott has been a dedicated local community councillor for 8 years and have achived great things for the residents. He is one of the most hardworking and community focused councillors, who truly puts the interests of the residents above anything else. Scott has also brought together local residents in the Barnhill estate, and been instrumental in the formation of the Barnhill Estate Residents Association (BERA).

Local Councillor - Hayes Independent Party
Rita has been a local councillor since 2022 and has served on the Children, Families and Education Select Committee. Juggling the demands of being a mother, as well as a councillor, dealing with individual casework for the residents.
